Prince Wheat Porotta is a layered flat bread made from Wheat flour (Gothamba), from the culinary tradition of Southern India, especially Kerala. The dough is beaten into thin layers and later forms a round spiral ball using these thin layers. The ball is then rolled flat and roasted. Wheat Porotta has been considered a healthier alternative for those who may suffer from Diabetes due to the reduction in sugar produced by Maida flour.
To prepare the Wheat Porotta from frozen please leave it to thaw at room temperature or defrost in the microwave. Once the Porotta is defrosted and for best results place it on a Thawa (Flat Pan) and fry for 2-3 minutes on a low heat for the best results. No extra preparation is necessary but if you wish you may spread the Porotta with butter or Ghee for extra softness.
